Published November 2, 2026 · News as of November 2, 2026

November in the Conejo Valley brings cooler mornings, the first holiday lights and a calendar that fills fast after Halloween. This year it also brings two outdoor ice rinks, a big week at the Civic Arts Plaza and the public opening of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing on December 2. Here is what's new, what's changing and what's worth putting on the calendar across Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Agoura Hills and Oak Park.

New in town, and a few goodbyes
Niku Ranch, Oak Park. The former CharcoalNiku space at 706 Lindero Canyon Road has reopened as Niku Ranch, with a menu built around locally sourced meats and seafood. Restaurant site →
Dos Bocas, Newbury Park. A new Mexican restaurant and bar with live music has taken over the old Habanero Mexican Grill spot at 520 N. Ventu Park Road.
Coming soon. Papa Razzi's Pizza is replacing Parma's at Agoura Meadows on Kanan Road, Pupresso Coffee House is under construction at the County Line Shopping Center in Westlake Village, and The Flying Yolk is moving into the former Cafe Rio on N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. None has announced an opening date yet.
Closing. Historia Bakery Cafe at 11 Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks plans to close on November 29, so there's still time for one more visit. All Good Eats & Drinks on N. Moorpark Road closed at the end of October.
A new food recovery hub. Adelante Comunidad Conejo opened a Community Food Recovery Hub at the CVUSD Park Oaks campus in October, supported by a state CalRecycle grant, to get surplus food to families instead of landfills.
What's changing around town
Agoura Road pipeline work, Westlake Village. The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District has started Pure Water Project pipeline construction on Agoura Road between Lindero Canyon and Lakeview Canyon. The district expects about four to six months of weekday work, roughly 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with lane closures, and night work at the Lindero and Agoura intersection starting as early as November 8. Leaving a few extra minutes for that stretch is a good idea. Construction updates →
Conejo Creek West Park. The Conejo Recreation & Park District board voted in October to move the Conejo Creek West concept into environmental review. The plan keeps the equestrian area and adds pickleball courts, picnic areas and parking, and there will be more chances to weigh in during the review.
Getting ready for a wet winter. With a strong El Niño in the forecast, local agencies have started clearing storm drains and stocking sandbags early. Homeowners near slopes and drainage channels may want to clear gutters and check yard drains before the first big storm.
Meetings worth knowing about. The CRPD board meets November 5, the Thousand Oaks City Council meets November 10 and the Westlake Village City Council meets November 18. Westlake Village is also hosting an informal Coffee with a Planner on November 5 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Starbucks at 5750 Lindero Canyon Road, a low-key way to ask about a remodel, an ADU or a project near you.
