1440 Torres Drive

Torres Drive is a hidden promontory overlooking its Rossmoyne neighborhood and downtown Glendale. It is here that noted developer Frank T. Howard built with his typical artistic detail throughout this sprawling one-story mid-century home in 1951. This special residence has been the beloved home of this family for… almost 60 years. The wide formal entry opens to a grand formal living room with a gorgeous wood beam ceiling, hand made copper fire place hood, and huge glass sliders drinking in the views. The formal dining room is dramatic in both its size and custom details. The kitchen is quite large and bathed in natural light with a breakfast nook, custom cabinetry, and long tile counters. The central hall leads to each of the three bedrooms and their two baths. In 1965 the family room was tastefully expanded to enjoy the views and a very cool wet bar. The house also has a huge laundry room, guest bath, and a great home office. Just across the breezeway is a very cute guest suite with its own bath and kitchenette that measures an additional 308sf that is not included in the assessor's square footage of the main house. The front grounds offer a large motor court with gardens for off street parking. The rear yard enjoys a large patio and covered deck for outdoor entertaining amongst mature trees and lovely vistas. There is also a detached two car garage. Read More
