About Granada Hills

Granada Hills was subdivided in 1926 on former Sunshine Ranch land and grew mostly after the Second World War. The deodar cedars along White Oak Avenue, planted in the 1930s, are a city historic-cultural monument and a symbol of the neighborhood. O’Melveny Park in the north-west is the second-largest park in the city.

The neighborhood runs from Devonshire Street and the 118 corridor on the south up to the mountains, with Balboa Boulevard and Zelzah Avenue as the main north–south streets and Chatsworth Street as the small-town commercial strip.

Homes and real estate in Granada Hills

South of the 118, the streets carry ranch and traditional homes from the 1950s and 1960s on lots that often run larger than in the central Valley. North of the freeway and Rinaldi Street, the foothill tracts of Knollwood and the streets toward O’Melveny Park have larger custom homes, some with city views, and the north-west corner keeps horse-zoned properties.

Condos and townhomes sit mostly along Chatsworth Street, Balboa Boulevard and near the 118 and 405, and are the entry point for buyers who want the neighborhood schools without a single-family price.
