Hillrise is about 430 detached houses built from 1968 to 1972 in three recorded tracts, north of the 101 and west of Kanan Road, below Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Most homes are 1,300 to 2,300 square feet, and the lots are compact, mostly 5,000 to 7,000 square feet. The most common sizes in recent sales are 1,972 square feet (two-story, four bedrooms) and 1,660 square feet (single-story, four bedrooms). Listings show a small association fee of about $425 to $465 a year.

Hillrise was built in three recorded tracts. The first, about 108 homes around Gladehollow Court, went up in 1968. The second, about 156 homes on Hillrise Drive, Trailway Lane and Bridle Glen Street, followed in 1969 and 1970. The third, about 165 homes on Meadow Vista Way, Softwind Way, Deep Shadow Drive and the streets around them, was built from 1970 to 1972.
The same plans repeat across all three. The 1,972-square-foot two-story with four bedrooms is the most common; the 1,660-square-foot single-story with four bedrooms is next. A 2,063-square-foot two-story has five or six bedrooms.

Lots are compact for Agoura Hills, mostly 5,000 to 7,000 square feet.
