Sherwood Country Club, listed in the MLS as Sherwood Country Estates, is the guard-gated community around the private Jack Nicklaus–designed golf course at Lake Sherwood, in unincorporated Ventura County west of Westlake Village. It has about 330 homesites, built from the early 1990s to the present, from attached villas to estates on several acres, on Stafford Road, Queens Garden Drive, Calbourne Lane, Williamsburg Way, Faringford Road, Munnings Way and the courts off them.

The homes
The community
Sherwood Country Club was developed from the late 1980s around a private golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, on the hills and valley south and west of Lake Sherwood. Stafford Road is the main loop, with Queens Garden Drive, Calbourne Lane, Williamsburg Way, Faringford Road, Munnings Way, Ladbrook Way and many courts off it. Homes have been built steadily since 1992, and several new houses were finished in 2024 and later.
Lake Sherwood itself is a reservoir created by a dam early in the twentieth century; the name comes from the 1922 Robin Hood film shot in the valley.
The homes
Every section is different. The estate streets have custom homes of about 4,500 to 7,500 square feet on lots of a third of an acre or more, with larger estates on several acres. The villas on Swanfield, Heatherbank and Crombie courts are attached homes of about 2,200 to 3,800 square feet.
Owning here
Associations and the club
Owners pay a master association for the staffed gates, private streets and common areas, and some sections pay an additional section fee. Recent listings show master dues from about $711 to $2,460 a quarter depending on the section. The golf club is private, with its own membership process and fees.
Schools
Sherwood Country Club is in the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Listings show Westlake Elementary, Colina Middle School and Westlake High School; confirm the assignment for a specific address with the district.
Getting around
Potrero Road runs east to Westlake Boulevard and the 101, about ten minutes away.
What to check
Homes range from the 1990s to new construction. Unincorporated Ventura County handles permits here. On large hillside lots, check slopes, drainage and brush clearance, and get an insurance quote early.

25 sales between October 2024 and September 2026 ran from $3,375,000 to $11,000,000, with a median of $6,235,000. Most homes of about 5,000 to 6,500 square feet sold for $5,000,000 to $7,000,000. The top sale was $11,000,000 in May 2025 for an 8,785-square-foot home on Queens Garden Drive finished in 2024. Single-story homes of about 3,700 to 4,800 square feet sold from $3,375,000 to $4,850,000.
How it compares
North Ranch Country Club Estates is the other guard-gated golf community nearby, generally at lower prices. Sherwood North Shore and The Glen, outside the club gates, have smaller gated homes for far less. Sherwood Country Club is the top of the local market.
